Together for the common good
Steve Helms for 135th
Steve Helms and his wife, Virginia, have been married for over 30 years. They have three children and have been members of Springfield’s Second Baptist Church since 1994.
Steve is a U.S. Army veteran. He served a tour of duty in the First Gulf War with the 101st Airborne/Air Assault Division in a recon platoon. He was honorably discharged in 1996.
He has owned and operated several successful small businesses and currently owns an independent insurance agency that specializes in helping seniors. Steve is a member of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.
Steve has also had the honor of being elected as the Greene County Circuit Clerk and had the privilege to oversee several innovations to the courts; the introduction to the State’s Justice Information System and the move to paperless files.
While in office Steve Helms significantly cut his County budget and helped save hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Steve Helms has the right mix of experience, both in office and in the private sector, to understand the process, but also realize what we need to make Missouri’s government work better for all of us.
Steve on the Environment - "As an advocate for urban farming, I believe we have a personal responsibility to manage our resources. I support initiatives that protect the the environment, and encourage sustainable living, without crippling economic growth."
